REMEMBERING TABLES
Remembering
times tables can be so boring! 2-2’s are 4,
3-3’s are 6, 4-4’s are 8……. Sadly nothing
is better for remembering times tables than to do
just that. However, here are a few tips from smileypig.com
to elevate some of that monotony.
Nine
times Table
To multiply by nine: Hold up your ten fingers,
If the sum was 7 x 9 simply count the number you
are multiplying by and hold down that finger.
The number of fingers before this finger held down
is the first digit of the answer and the number
of fingers after the finger held down is the second
digit of the answer, in this example 63. Try
again, 8 x 9 you just put down your 8th finger and
again there's your answer 72. Seven fingers
before number 8 a two fingers after number 8.
7X9=63 8X9=72
